Dear community,
we want to invite anyone who is interested in helping to keep the Festival alive, to come to a planning meeting on Tuesday, 8th January, 7.30pm at Cafe Unity.
See you there.
Here are some moments of this year’s festival captured by our videographer Romica Jones.
Thank you to everyone who came for making it a lovely community event, especially the children who made the parade longer than ever this year.
Some of the Festival committee members are getting older and would love to be replaced by younger, more energetic people in Heald Green who may have new ideas for the Festival. If anyone is interested, please ring Margaret on 437 7197 where they can get further information and support. It would be a pity if the Festival couldn’t go ahead for the want of a few more interested helpers.
Thanks to everyone concerned for making it a great afternoon yesterday.

There’s just one week to go before this year’s Festival! Have you got your fancy dress costume ready for the Parade?
There will be the usual attractions and stalls, funfair, BBQ, food and drink stalls, as well as lots of entertainment outside in the Arena and inside Hall. Our local junior footballers will once again be playing in the annual football tournament and Paul Dickov, formerly with Manchester City FC, will present the shield and medals.
Finally, don’t forget the Festival Grand Draw with the Mayor of Stockport. The winners will be announced at 4pm, if you would like to purchase your tickets in advance, there is a last chance to do so outside Cafe Unity Saturday 23rd June in the morning.

Come and enjoy the wonderful performances at this year’s festival.
Please note: This year, the parade will be inside the safety of the field again. The Oldham Pipe Band will lead the children’s parade around the field at 12.30pm. Anyone can join the parade, whether in fancy dress or not, just follow the band. Let’s make it as long a parade as we can this year!
